Weird formatting Excel 2007 -> Outlook Express 6
I hope this is the correct place to post an Outlook Express question. Not sure if a problem with Excel 2007 or Outlook Express 6, so I’m posting this both places. I enter text in Excel, Cell A1, appx 60 charactersThen appx 60 more in Cell B1Etc. for appx. 10 rows.Formatting is the same in all cells. I then copy A1 thru appx J100 (other data is needed in the B thru J columns in the lower rows) to an Outlook Express email. Some rows show as typed, meaning spread across the email like this sentence.Other rowsOf wordsArePut inOne columnLikeThis sentence. I need the data spread across the page. Any idea as to why this is happening ? Thanks, Steve

That is what happens quite often. If you want to preserve formatting then DON'T paste directly into an email.Either attach the Excel file or save as a pdf and attach that.If you find my response helpful, please click on the "Vote as Helpful" button!Thank you!My Blog

Thank you.Yes, I was afraid of that. And it sounds like it's a hit and miss kinda thing.Unfortunately, by attaching either will not allow responders to answer/reply inside the email where I needed the responses.I did notice that my Excel was Sans Serif, and OE was Book Antigua, so when I changed Excel to Book Antigua, at least the sentences came out ok, but some column widths were significatly wider when that Excel table part (rows below the sentences) was including in the pasting, which was also still an original problem that I didn not mention. Of couse, I don't know if the font change was the reason, or like you indicated, those things happen quite often, and this was a time that it didn't.Thanks again, Steve

Outlook Express has never played nicely with Office applications' formatting. If you were using Outlook as your default Mail Client, you wouldn't have such problems.~Robear Dyer (PA Bear) ~ MS MVP (IE, Mail, Security, Windows & Update Services) since 2002 ~ Disclaimer: MS MVPs neither represent nor work for Microsoft

Thanks.Maybe it is time that I graduate and lose the 'express'.I have resisted because I use usenet newsgrops a lot, and I like how OE has newsgrupos included, whereas Outlook does not. Thanks again,Steve

If you're referring to the MS newsgroups accessed via the MS newsserver, see...Microsoft Responds to the Evolution of Communitieshttp://www.microsoft.com/communities/newsgroups/default.mspx ~Robear Dyer (PA Bear) ~ MS MVP (IE, Mail, Security, Windows & Update Services) since 2002 ~ Disclaimer: MS MVPs neither represent nor work for Microsoft
